2. What is the difference between a grade of "W", "UW" and a grade of "WF"?

"W" indicates an authorized withdrawal initiated by the student.

"UW" is an unauthorized withdrawal submitted by the professor when a student stops attending a class.

"WF" is a withdrawal with record of failure (counts as F in G.P.A.).

3. What is pass/fail?

A student may only take electives on a P/F basis. Grades of "P" do not get computed into the G.P.A., however, a grade of "F" does. Students are limited to taking 2 courses per academic year as pass/fail.

4. When will I receive my grades?

Grades are usually sent out to students about 2-3 weeks after the end of the semester. Students may also access their grades over the Student Information System.

6. Can grades be changed?

8. Is there a difference between ENG 8 and ENG 408? They both have the same course title but have different numbers.

C.W. Post students entering after Fall 2000 are required to participate in the Writing Across the Curriculum program. Courses in the 400’s are considered writing intensive. ENG 408 is the writing intensive section for ENG 8.

17. What are the competencies?

Every student must exhibit proficiency in computer literacy, oral communication, and library usage. Each semester a schedule is posted in the lobby of the Academic Counseling Center for students indicating when the computer and library exam will be offered. Students must contact the Communication Sciences & Disorders Department to take the oral competency. Students may also fulfill these requirements by taking a workshop or a course. Transfer students entering C.W. Post with over 60 credits are exempt from the competencies.

18. Can I walk in May Commencement if my course work isn’t complete?

19. I have to take off a semester for personal reasons, what should I do?
