Are the courses approved to satisfy the educational component of my J-1 Visitor Exchange Visa?

YES, the courses were reviewed by the U.S. Information Agency and were approved.

Is C.W. Post an accredited University?

YES, C.W. Post is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.

Can any au pair enroll for the on campus Weekend Course?

YES, Au Pairs who live locally, or au pairs who live some distance from campus are welcome. Local coordinators are working together to arrange for car pools or bus transportation for groups of au pairs. C.W. Post is working with LCCs to provide transportation for groups coming by train.

Are the courses regular University courses which grant credit toward a degree?

The courses offered for au pairs are special interest classes and do not earn credit toward a college degree. These courses, however, do meet the credit course requirements for the educational component of the au pair experience.

Will C.W. Post bring the courses to other areas of the country?

YES, We will be happy to work with LCCs or Regional Coordinators to schedule a course anywhere in the country; however, there would need to be an enrollment of 75-100 to teach the classes elsewhere. Further, we would need about 60 days notice to arrange the instructors schedules, transportation and to arrange for classroom space and meals associated with the curriculum.

Do au pairs need computers or access to the Internet to complete the course work?

NO, The instructors contact the au pairs by phone and will accept assignments that are handwritten, if no computer is available. If a computer or email is available, the instructors will use it, but it is not a requirement.

Can any student attend these American Culture Courses?

YES, Students who are accepted at C.W. Post Long island University is welcome to attend these courses.
