Brain Bee FAQ and links
Eligibility to be a competitor: Long Island high school students who have read "Brain Facts." Participation in the Brain Bee preparatory course is recommended.
Regional Brain Bees C.W. Post Campus hosts the only Brain Bee on Long Island. There are more than 40 local Brain Bees, including several in other countries. They are normally conducted during January, February or early March.
Brain Facts Booklets All questions for the
C.W. Post Campus Brain Bee competitions come from the book "Brain
Facts: A Primer on the Brain and Nervous System," published
by the Society for Neuroscience. Information about the Society for
Neuroscience and "Brain Facts" are available on the Society's
Publications webpage.
National Brain Bee. The winner of the local Brain Bee will compete in the National Brain Bee in Maryland. Students can prepare for the National competition by studying Brain Facts, plus the British Neuroscience Association's publication Neuroscience: the Science of the Brain, which is available in many languages and can be found at the International Brain Research Organization’s website - http://www.braincampaign.org/Pub/Pub_front.asp.
Remember, Brain Bee prep classes are offered for FREE on February 6, 20 and 27, 2010.
