Admission/Degree Requirements
 
Admission Requirements:
  • bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2 letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant's academic or professional work
  • undergraduate grade point average or GRE General Test scores indicative of preparedness for graduate studies
  • an interview with the director

All students must show evidence of proficiency in the use of computers through an undergraduate computer course or experience.

Entering students with degrees outside the natural sciences must succesfully complete:
  • 1 year General Chemistry with lab (8 credits)
  • 1 semester Organic Chemistry
and either
  • 1 year General Biology with lab (8 credits)
    or
  • 1 year Geology/Earth Science with lab (8 credits)
These undergraduate courses may be completed concurrently with graduate courses during first year in the program.


Degree Requirements:

M.S. in Environmental Studies in one of two concentrations:
  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Management
Thesis Track

5 core courses

15 credits

3 electives in concentration

9 credits

research and thesis

6 credits

Total:

30 credits

Internship Track  

5 core courses

15 credits

5 electives (4 or 5 in concentration)

15 credits

internship with report

3 credits
