The C.W. Post College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will hold its twelfth
Science Expo
Sunday, April 18, 2004
1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
The Expo is
expected to feature
live animals, lasers, fractals, optical illusions, skeletons, volcano and earthquake demonstrations, health information, computers and much, much more.
Visitors of all ages
will be able to participate in stimulating hands-on activities and intriguing demonstrations provided by C.W. Post faculty and students as well as representatives from industry and public interest groups.
Donald R. Ferruzzi, Professor of Biology and Chairman of the Department
of Natural Sciences at the Western Campus of Suffolk County Community
College will present an illustrated lecture on forensic medicine titled
“The Forensic Autopsy: Merging Medical Science and the Law.”
Dr. Grace Rossi, Dr. Gerald Lachter and Dr. Jeffrey Corey, C.W. Post Psychology
professors, will
present lectures on Animal Learning and Sensation and Perception.
Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary staff will present raptor biology,
featuring live birds of prey.
Multi-media presentation on the basics of heart structure and function.
How this presentation was produced using technology and video will also be shown.
There will be a Health Fair at the Science Expo (Room 116, Humanities Hall) sponsored by the
Professional Nurses Association from the Department of Nursing of C.W. Post. Registered nurses will
be on hand to give advice on breast cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, all areas of women's
health and many other health concerns.

The C.W. Post Science Expo 2004 will be held rain or shine at the C.W. Post Campus of
Long Island University on Route 25A (Northern Boulevard) in Brookville.
