Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Mathematics offers six degree programs:

A Bachelor of Science in:

  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics Education
  • Applied Mathematics with Computer Science
  • Mathematics and Physics (in conjunction with the Physics Department)
A Bachelor of Arts in:
  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics Education

The Mathematics Department at C.W. Post takes an active role in helping its majors find suitable employment after graduation. As an example the department offers a special course to prepare students to take the first actuarial exam. We then help place students who pass the test in actuarial positions.

We have a pre-engineering program in which students complete the equivalent of the first two years of an engineering curriculum and then transfer to an engineering school. Special transfer agreements have been established with engineering schools including Polytechnic University and Stevens Institute of Technology so that students can transfer without loss of credits. Students who do not wish to transfer stay at C.W. Post for the full four years to complete a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics.
