How do I Use my Laptop While on Campus?

The wireless network on the campus of Long Island University – C. W. Post is available in the following areas:

· Hillwood Commons – Commuter Lounge

· Cafeteria – including “Fishbowl”

· Library

· Lorber Hall – available from most locations on the first and second floor, including second floor classrooms

C.W. Post’s wireless network now has encryption (effective fall 2003). You must go the Office of Information Technology in the library to get set up to access wireless on campus (call 516-299-2281 for more information).

How Do I Set Up My Laptop for Printing?

1. Go to the following website using Internet Explorer:

http://labprinters.liu.edu

2. Click on the link: Click here to choose a printer

2. Click on the name of a printer. e.g. HP LaserJet 8100 Series PS

3. Click on Connect under PRINTER ACTIONS on the left side of your screen.

4. Click on Yes to add a printer connection.

5. When prompted for a username and password, enter wireless as the username and do not enter a password. Click on OK. Your printer drivers have been installed on your machine.

6. Click on the link: Click here to open the printers folder on your machine

Make sure you have an icon of the selected printer driver.

7. Now you may print at that designated printer.
