All applicants
are required to take the Graduate Manage-ment Admission Test
(GMAT) before final acceptance. This is an aptitude test administered
by the Educational Testing Service that is designed to measure
certain mental skills that business school students need.
There is evidence that test scores are an excellent predictor
of success. The test is not a measure of achievement or knowledge
in any specific subject area, and those who take the test
are neither required nor expected to have had undergraduate
preparation in management subjects.
The GMAT is given
at many education centers in the United States and abroad,
although it is not given at every testing center on every
date. If the testing center nearest you is a long distance
from your residence, the Educational Testing Service will,
on request, arrange to administer the test at a more convenient
location on the same date, but you must make arrangements
for such testing at least two months in advance.
If you are currently
enrolled in college, you should take the test during your
senior year, even if you intend to apply for admission at
a later date.
