Accounting Society
The Accounting Society of Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus was established in the 1966-67 academic year. The Society acts as a liaison between students and the accounting profession. It provides opportunities for self-development, community service, and association among its members and professionals. Each year, approximately one-third of C.W. Post's accounting students participate in the Accounting Society through weekly professional meetings, events such at the annual volleyball tournament, KPMG barbeque, Deloitte softball game, and an end-of-year dinner dance.

Beta Alpha Psi Kappa Omicron Chapter
Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary organization, was founded in 1919 and currently has 63 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since its formation. . The Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus Beta Alpha Psi Kappa Omicron Chapter was established in the 2000-2001 academic year. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. In addition to the meetings and events of Accounting Society, Beta Alpha Psi members provide tutoring for accounting students as well as voluntary income tax assistance for the university and the community. Membership in Beta Alpha Psi includes those persons of good moral character who have achieved scholastic and professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance, or information systems.

Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society established to recognize,
reward, and promote superior scholastic attainment in the field
of business administration.
The Nu Chapter of Delta Mu Delta was established
at the C.W. Post Campus in 1964 to meet the aims of the national
society.

Marketing Association
The American Marketing Association is an organization on the C.W.
Post Campus that works to foster scientific study and research in
the field of marketing. Its goal is to develop sound thinking in
marketing theory and a greater knowledge of marketing principles.

Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi is an International Co-ed Professional Fraternity
that sponsors professional speakers, serves the community/university,
and strives to promote scholarship among fellow students. The Zeta
Omicron Chapter was founded in 1965 on the C.W. Post Campus.

each other, exchange ideas and information that will be helpful

Society for Advancement of Management

use. It prepares both undergraduate and graduate student members

Financial
Management Association
The Department of Finance sponsors a student chapter of the Financial
Management Association (FMA). Founded in 1970, the FMA has over
4,000 members world wide (academicians, senior executives, research
analysts and financial market professionals). The FMA helps students
transfer academic skills into professional skills by creating a
challenging environment for students. Students participate in seminars
as well as lectures given by financial executives who are experts
in the various areas of finance. Various computer programs are also
available to give students hands-on experience in investment management.

National Criminal Justice Honor Society
The Epsilon Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal
Justice Honor Society, recognizes academic excellence in the major
of criminal justice. To qualify you must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
and a 3.3 in criminal justice, with half of your course requirements
completed on the undergraduate level. On the graduate level you
must have a 3.5 GPA with half of your course work completed toward
your Masters. Applications are available in the Advisors Office
(Dr. Roslyn Muraskin, Professor of Criminal Justice, Post Hall,
3C3, or call 516-299-3146or email roslyn.muraskin@liu.edu)
and must be returned to her for verification of requirements. All
students admitted receive a National Certificate, pin and membership
card and are inducted in the Spring Semester at the Annual Dinner
Dance of the Criminal Justice Department.

Criminal Justice Organization
This organization is open to all criminal justice majors and
those interested in the field of criminal justice. Conferences,
seminars and debates are sponsored, as well as trips to places of
interest that pertain to the area of criminal justice. We meet during
the course of the year. Students are also welcome and invited to
present papers at professional conferences as well as invited to
submit papers for scholarship awards by the national organizations.
