Explorer E and Pioneers take over Long Island!

…Children Ages 12-14

Ever wonder what types of outdoor opportunities Long Island has to offer? This summer our Explorer E and Pioneer Campers will discover the true beauty of our home towns.  Each week our Explorer E and Pioneers campers will set out to explore a new location on Long Island. Each week will be based around a theme that will include a day trip. Day trips will be to local museums, preserves, and aquariums. Explorer E and Pioneers will be able to leave campus to experience the possibilities Long Island has to offer in the way of science and the natural environment. This new program will be an adventure they will never forget.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

...Children Ages 15-16

This program is open to campers who are serious about becoming counselors in the future. CIT campers attend morning workshops with the CIT/LIT director, covering topics included in the C.W. Post Staff Training Manual such as leadership styles, behavior management, safety procedures, ages and stages of campers and much more. In the afternoons, they will "shadow" program directors and counselors so they can practice what they have learned. CITs will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of C.W. Post Summer Day Camp and get an insider’s view of how the program runs. CITs who graduate our CIT program will have the opportunity to participate in our Junior Counselor Program when they turn 16. Space is limited to 15 CITs per session. CITs must complete a 3 week program to be eligible for graduation.
