Hoover's Online Library databases
Use Hoover's Online to find overview, history, and some financial information about your company. Easy links are provided for SEC filings.

Mergent Online Library databases
In addition to the features found in Hoover's Online, the Mergent database provides 15 years of financials, investment information, annual reports, and EDGAR (SEC) filings. Financials can be downloaded to Excel and reports of multiple companies can be created.

Lexis-Nexis Company Dossier Library databases
Provides a corporate snapshot, business description, brands, officers, stock information, SEC filings, corporate hierarchy, financial information, legal information, intellectual property information, articles from newspapers & trade publications, and more. Includes information from Hoovers, CoreData, Disclosure, Standard & Poor's, Experian, Nelson's, Worldscope, and more.

Value Line Investment Survey Library databases
Use Value Line to find concise company profiles with key investment data including retrospective, current, and forecasted financials; timeliness, safety, and technical rankings; and, investment analysis and opinion. Industry data is available as well as screening features and a list of the top 100 stocks. Updated weekly with company reports updated quarterly. Try the Value Line Subscriber Guides for further assistance.

Business Source Premier (Ebsco) Library databases
Business Source Premier provides full text articles for over 8,000 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. Includes industry reports and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies.

The official site of the SEC will link you to all SEC filings for a company.

IRIN-Annual Report Resource Center http://www.irin.com
This free Internet site provides easy access to more than 9,800 annual reports.

The NAICS and SIC manuals provide the classification system developed by the federal government for categorizing all industry sectors. A number of information sources arrange data according to NAICS or SIC classification. Where appropriate, the codes provide access to very specific industry data.

Standard & Poor's Industry Surveys (available in print at the Reference Desk)
These individual booklets covering 51 industries provide comprehensive overview, trends, key players, financials, and sources for further information for each industry reviewed. Some of the industries covered are aerospace, biotechnology, communications equipment, computers (hardware, software, services, networking), and telecommunications.

Current Industrial Reports http://www.census.gov/cir/www/alpha.html
The CIR's are detailed statistical reports produced by the Manufacturing and Construction Division of the U.S. Census. Among many subjects, reports are available for computer and electronic product manufacturing, and electrical and component manufacturing.

Encyclopedia of American Industries (Bus HC 102 .E53)
These industry overviews provide a comprehensive description of both manufacturing and non-manufacturing industries. In addition to the library's print copy, the overviews are also available online in the Business & Company Resource Center.

U.S. Industry & Market Outlook Outlook (Bus HC 101 .U55bx)
This publication provides estimates of the size of the largest manufacturing, retail, wholesale, and service industries in the United States.

Hoover's Industries Library databases
Click on "Browse Industries" and select industry. Overview and company information is available.

Economic Census http://www.census.gov/econ/census02/
The Economic Census is carried out every five years by the federal government and provides establishment statistics that profile the U.S. economy. Data provided include number of establishments, receipts, and payroll by industry code (NAICS).


LIBRARY DATABASES:

The following databases are available on campus and from home. A University I.D. card with a barcode will provide access from off campus. Go to the Circulation Desk of the Library to obtain a barcode.

These databases will provide many full-text articles about all business topics including company and industry information.

Business Source Premier (Ebsco) Library databases
Business Source Premier provides full text articles for over 8,000 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. Coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. This database provides full text (PDF) for more than 350 of the top scholarly journals dating as far back as 1922.

Business & Company Resource Center Library databases
Use Advanced Search to locate company and industry information, investment reports, history, rankings, and many current articles.

General BusinessFile Library databases
Produced by the same company as the Business & Company Resource Center, this database provides similar information in a somewhat different format.

ABI/Inform Global (ProQuest) Library databases
The ProQuest databases provide a wealth of information in full-text articles. Use the Advanced Search to locate articles by specific company and/or subject heading.

Mergent Online Library databases
