| Registration is not required for these examinations, but please note that seating is limited and given on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who arrive five minutes after the exam begins may not take the examinations. You must bring a picture ID and know your student ID number. Students without photo ID or their ID number will not be allowed to take the exam. If the exam has not been taken by the time you have earned 60 credits, you will be automatically enrolled to take the library workshop. The History
of Black Economic Empowerment Created by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History and supplemented with resources from the collections of the Library of Congress and the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library, this exhibit portrays African Americans - after gaining freedom from centuries of slavery - moving forward with organizational and entrepreneurial skills. The exhibit also commemorates the centennial of the National Urban League. This organization has worked in various ways to bring about educational and employment opportunities to blacks. The National Urban League remains a significant force in improving the lives of over two million African Americans each year. |

and Obama: Lessons from the Past, Inspiration for the Future Lecture by Dr. Harold Holzer, renowned Lincoln scholar and co-chairman of the U.S. Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. 12:30 p.m. in the Interfaith Center. The lecture will be followed by a reception. Admission is free. This event has also been sponsored by: the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library (selected host and recipient of the grant), the Port Washington Public Library, the Hutton House Lectures, the Post Library Association, and several campus organizations and departments: HEOP, History Department, Honors Program, Interfaith Center, International Admissions, Political Science Department, Student Affairs, Student Life and Leadership Development, School of Education, Theatre, Film, Dance/Arts Management. |
