POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will be responsible for administering the clinical laboratory science program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS). The Program Director is responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review planning, development, instruction and general effectiveness of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s degree is required, doctorate preferred. ASCP certification, three years of teaching experience, and to be able to meet NAACLS requirement for program directorship.

Director, Genetics Counseling Graduate Program

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The selected individual will serve as the Program’s founding director and will play a vital role in establishing a Master’s degree program in Genetics Counseling that will meet the accreditation requirements of the American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC). The position will be based at the University’s C.W. Post Campus, in Brookville, New York. The Program Director will initially be employed half-time and will oversee the final stages of the Program’s development and curricular structure. In addition, the Program Director will lead LIU’s efforts to obtain Provisional Accreditation for the Program through the ABGC and state approval through New York State Education Department. The Program Director will assist in securing clinical training sites and in formulating policy and procedures relevant to the Program. It is anticipated that the position will become full-time after program approval has been secured. Once the Director’s position converts to full-time status, half the Director’s responsibilities will be devoted to teaching courses in Genetics Counseling.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess a Masters degree in Genetics Counseling and be ABGC or ABMG certified. In addition, applicants must have at least five years of successful experience as a genetics counselor. Although the position will be based at the University’s C.W. Post Campus, in Brookville, New York, the Director will need to commute to the University’s Brooklyn Campus as needed.

Program Director
Vascular Technology Program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide leadership and meet CAAHEP accreditation requirements.
2. Responsible for all operations of the surgical technology program including: budget, staffing, student recruitment and admissions and student management.
3. Preparing instructional materials and evaluation instruments for teaching assignments.
4. Assisting in curriculum design, development, revision and implementation.
5. Participating in didactic and clinical teaching.
6. Directing lectures and laboratory/clinical sessions in the performance aspects of the related theory of imaging sciences. Collaborate with other professional personnel for the practical experience phases of training.
7. Actively participate in the professional development of students through advisement referrals, evaluation and supervision appropriate areas.
8. Performing the responsibilities of, and meet the qualification for, the program director as outlined in the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs’ standards and guidelines for an accredited educational program for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
9. Performing other related duties as required or assigned by the Dean.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates in Diagnostic Medical Sonography plus credential as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
