Confrontation Magazine to Publish 100th Issue in January 2008

Confrontation, the award-winning literary magazine of Long Island University, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2008. Headquartered in the English Department at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, the magazine will publish its 100th issue in January 2008, reprinting material from its early issues as well as new fiction and poetry from writers around the world.
The issue will feature contributions from Arthur Miller, W.H. Auden, Alvin Toffler, Cynthia Ozick, I.B. Singer and Winthrop Palmer, one of the campus’ first English professors and a former chair of the board of trustees of Long Island University. The magazine has published the work of seven Nobel Laureates, among them John Steinbeck, Derek Walcott and Nadine Gordimer, and other recognized literary giants such as Iris Murdoch, Joyce Carol Oates and Paul Theroux. The editor of Confrontation is Long Island University Professor Emeritus Martin Tucker, who was one of the founding editors of the magazine and has been its editor-in-chief since 1970.
