Aquatic Offerings

Beginner Swimming

For non-swimmers. Class will cover body balance, rhythmic breathing, kicking and the introduction of front crawl, elementary backstroke and back crawl.

Intermediate Swimming

For individuals who are comfortable in the water. Development of front and back crawl strokes, introduction of breaststroke.
Prerequisites: rhythmic breathing, ability to swim front crawl one width of the pool.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Become a lifeguard! Successful completion of the course material and passing grades on the tests result in certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer-all necessary certifications for a lifeguard job.

Fee includes text, first aid materials, pocket masks and certification cards. **All registrants must pass the pre-test to enter the class: 500 yard swim (200 yds. front crawl, 100 yds. breaststroke, 200 yds. front crawl using rhythmic breathing or breaststroke), 20 yd. swim, surface dive to 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 lb. object, return to the surface and swim 20 yds. returning to the starting point with the object.

Aqua Aerobics

If you are looking to get involved with a fitness program this may be for you. Low impact exercise and variable work intensity make this a perfect class for anyone looking for a good cardiovascular workout.

Century Club

We Dare You To Swim 100 Miles!
Just count the number of laps you do, fill out your distance form and leave the rest to us. We will track your mileage and awards will be given to swimmers at various mile achievements. You do not need to register for this, just start filling in the forms provided on the recreation board in the pool area.
