New Students (students beginning college for the first time) and First Year Transfer Students (students with fewer than 30 credits) often opt to attend a summer orientation session rather than the make up one-day session. These Orientations tend to be more interactive, informative, and allow a better opportunity for student-to-student interaction. Freshman Orientation sessions are overnight and begin at 9 a.m. with check in on Day 1. Students stay overnight in a residence hall.

Transfer Orientation sessions and Makeup Orientation are both 1 day sessions that begin in the morning and go until about 3pm.

Summer Orientation 2009 offers various sessions for new incoming students and transfer students. The sessions listed below are open to new students and their families:

Session 1 Freshman Orientation: July 31-August1, 2009
Session 2 Freshman Orientation: August 5-August 6, 2009
Transfer Orientation: August 14, 2009
Transfer Orientation: August 28, 2009
Makeup Orientation: September 7, 2009
